CS rant
I was looking at some job postings the other day (for the heluvit) and noticed that most of the computer-related ones required an undergraduate degree in computer science or computer engineering. As someone who’s in computer science, I call bullshit on them. CS grads know jack-all about practical applications of computing. (Can’t comment on the engineers.)
I came to university with the hopes that I’d meet like-minded people who knew more than me about computers, or at least about some of the stuff I’m interested in. So far, the only knowledgeable computer nerd I’ve met is Justin. Most computer science students know about as much about the technologies they use as an English major does. It’s depressing.
