  • Tracking down Linux daemons

    You nmap your box and find it listening on a strange port. What do you do? Well, if you’re me, you fret. If you’re smarter than me, though, you can track down the process that’s listening on that port. The quick and simple: run “netstat -ap” and look for the offending port name or number.
