Bad iPod battery
Followup to this post.
I got the battery installed as per the enclosed instructions. It worked. I was happy! But it only worked until the battery ran out, whereupon no amount of charging made a difference. The battery does not charge. Period.
Hold on, doesn’t it have a lifetime warranty? Yes, it does, but the hassle of actually getting it replaced isn’t worth the money I spent on it in the first place.
Really the only good to come of this is that I got to crack open my iPod. I’ve always wanted to do that.

lessons I have learned from faulty Apple products:
yell at them enough and they give you tons of free stuff.
point in case: my 30GB iPod video which broke 5 days after I got it…I now have 60GB, a car charger, a wall adapter (which sadly no longer comes with the iPod itself…), an armband, those iPod socks, and I can’t even remember what else…!!

crap.. why didn’t I try the free stuff idea?
My ipod mini broke after about a week, and then I went and got a new one free, but they suckered me into buying the “apple care protection plan” cause otherwise every call I made to apple would be $60 if I had anymore problems with the new ipod!!
This was during the summer, and now they don’t even make mini’s anymore! :’(
Oh well.. I’m just not much of a haggler .. maybe I should learn my lesson and next time something like this happens I might get me some of those stylish socks!
