Kingston Utilities is really chafing my nethers

Not only is my bill exhorbitantly high (I’m somehow using as many kilowatt-hours as a family of four), they sent my a letter saying that I also owe arrears. I’ve received exactly two bills from them: one was paid long ago, and the other is due August 9th.

I’ll try calling them from work tomorrow to sort it out, but… What the hell?

Edit: I called them. The “arrears” notice was apparently a mistake and can be disregarded, and the high bills are apparently a symptom of their estimating the usage. I’m still going to take a look at the meter on my way out.

The deposit charges will be credited to your account after a year. They only do that because you didn’t have an account with them before or something. I don’t know about the rest though…our electricity portion was well over $80 for two people for the month of June. It makes no sense at all.

They do crazy things like that…expect a refund next month. Seriously, I think there were more months where Nick and I had money deposited into our bank account than where we paid them.
