Once upon a time in Kingston

It’s been a hectic month. Recent happenings:

  • I was elected Queen’s Amnesty International Club Vice-Chair, beating out the guy that’s been involved with Amnesty since grade 11. I feel a little guilty about that.
  • I got accepted to the STAND:GO conference in Ottawa, May 6-8. For those I still haven’t told yet, life in Darfur ain’t so good. Contact me for further details.
  • I wrote three of my four exams in three days. It wasn’t fun. The last one was especially not fun. We actually got an email from the prof to apologise for the difficulty and let us know that he’s going to mark them really nicely. He’s a good guy, so I’m not worried.
  • I researched my top med school choices, McGill and UBC, and became very, very depressed.
  • The weather is finally spring-y. Damned climate change.

    1) YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR COMMENT FORM! I just typed a big comment, tried to submit, and it erased everything :(
    2) Were you depressed about UBC and McGill because of the number of out-of-province students they take? I certainly am, McGill’s my top choice! See, this summer job has an ulterior motive: this guy has a multimillion dollar deal with AstraZeneca and LOTS of hookups in the pharmaceutical R&D industry (the hub of which is in the Montreal area), and if I work for a year I can become a “Quebec resident” :D
